As you may recall from the first Mo Goes entry, Josh and I met Mo at a comedy club. I neglected to say that we were at the club because we were shooting b-roll for a television project for Claudia Sherman-Smith*, a goddess of comedy turned pastry chef. The only reason that I even mention this at this moment is that you never know when one thing may lead to another.

Josh and I shooting b-roll lead us to Maureen. Several weeks later, we bonded with Mo in person for the first time at the Westway Diner. We engaged in a basic brainstorming session: tossing around different ideas and coming up with a list of fun possibilities. Ultimately, our mutual favorite was a show called Mo Goes!

The basic idea of Mo Goes!As a working comic, Maureen spends a lot of time on the road. Not just across the U.S. but all over the world.

At night she performs her stand-up act but, during the day, sheʼs out experiencing the local flavor—from admiring totem poles in Vancouver or exploring castles in Galway or kayaking in the fjords of Norway or simply taking a crash-course in the art of burlesque dancing in New York City.

The show, of course, would follow her adventures.

A blue moon later, Josh and I decided to do a little research about how some t.v. shows were created. Even though I'm not really a fan of Seinfeld, I had the first season of the series on DVD. There was an extra on the set about the creation of the show, featuring interviews with Larry David.

In the mini-documentary, David tells the story about the creation of the show and shows up where it was created. It turns out that Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld dreamed up the idea of Seinfeld at the Westway Diner. How weird is that?

But anyway, in order to pitch the show, we had to pull together a teaser reel for the Mo Goes!. First, though, we had to figure out where Mo would go...

COMING SOON: Pole dancing? Daddy issues? Or both?

*This is Claudia:

Josh and I dreamed up this show idea for Claudia as a web series several months ago. We thought she'd be great as the "Anti-Rachel Ray." Ultimately, Claudia wasn't thrilled with what we created but it still makes Josh and I laugh. Maureen liked the idea but the raw chicken made Maureen gag.

If you've read this far, I would love to know what you think of the pilot episode. There are a couple of other episodes of Cooking with Claudia on the Cooking with Claudia YouTube channel. I have a few more episode in the can but haven't posted them to YouTube. Should I post 'em here?
